Gas Permeability Tester- QT-GPT-500 is used to test the gas transmission rate (GTR) of packaging material by differential pressure method.

This instrument is generally used to measure transmission rate of Oxygen (O2), Nitrogen (N2), Carbon dioxide (CO2), and other Non-inflammable and non-etchant gases through and packaging container so as to ensure the quality of material inside package is maintained as required.

Applications

Gas Permeability Tester - QT-GPT-500 widely applicable in food industry, pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics flexible packaging materials industry for gas permeability testing of plastic film, composite films, barrier materials, sheets, metal aluminum foils, infusion bags, , PVC sheets.

It can also be used to measure permeability of gas through finished container with optional adaptors for bottles, bags, pouches, bowl, box, can, etc. based on their size and shapes.

Working Principle

It is based on Pressure differential method. A test sample is fixed in the middle of test chamber so that it separates chamber into upper room and lower room, a one room shall be filled with controlled pressure of gas where as the other room is connected to vacuum pump so as to built pressure difference due to which gas molecules starts to penetrate through the sample from higher pressure room into lower pressure room, then the system monitors the pressure change in lower pressure room and calculates the gas transmission rate.
