Automatic O-Ring Hardness Tester

Our automatic modular hardness tester, DigiTest, has already found great popularity for its advanced technology, top engineering quality and repeatability of results. DigiTEST is the market leader in the plastics and rubber industries for hardness measurement in Durometer and IRHD scales.

Recently, DigiTest has been applied in a modified system for Automatic O-ring hardness testing with great success. Increasing customer demands for better efficiency and in-line tests on O-rings led to the new DigiTest application. DigiTEST can perform O ring tests in series of 50 to 100 rings within the measuring range of IRHD micro acc. to the standards DIN 53519 sheet 2, ISO 48, NFT 46003, ASTM D 2240 and BS 903 Part. A 26.

The most important advantage is that a larger quantity of tested samples provides a far more reliable results and better statement of the quality on the certificate of analysis or other external document.

The automatic tester allows for the automatic test on O-rings of a cord diameter between 0,6 an 5 mm and an outer diameter up to maximum 30 mm.

O-rings of bigger shape can be tested in single measurements. The O-rings are pushed on a bar magazine and are fed by an automatic sledge system. The centering device of the rings guarantees that they are tested at the highest position.
At the end of the measurement they are selected to be GOOD or BAD.

The tolerance limits of this function can be stored in the electronic unit so that O-rings of different cord diameters and outer diameters can be tested quickly and easily. The automatic tester can be adjusted to the different sizes without any problems.

Operator errors, are eliminated because of the automatic operating cycle. The operator may perform other tasks during this automatic process.

The operator can observe the charge- and discharge characteristics of a sample within the IRHD range and transfer the data to a PC with the help of a suitable software.

The operating mode STANDARD GRAPH draws the flow curve of the IRHD measurement so that the charge characteristics of O-rings can be observed.

The measured values can be logged or the corresponding curves can be drawn using special software which is sold as an accessory.
