Leebs Rebound Type Portable Hardness Tester

Leebs Rebound Type Portable Hardness Tester

A full range of versatile rebound-type portable hardness testers using the dynamic Leeb Rebound technique, conforming to ASTM A956 and DIN 50156 standards.Leeb technique often is considered a universal method for portable hardness testing. With the Leeb principle an impact body with a hard metal test tip is propelled by spring force against the surface of the test piece. Surface deformation takes place when the impact body hits the test surface, which will result in loss of kinetic energy. This energy loss is calculated by velocity measurements. When the impact body is passing the coil at a precise distance from the surface, a signal voltage is induced during the impact and rebound phase of the test. The voltages are proportional to the velocity.Signal processing by the electronics provides the hardness reading for display and storage.Leeb rebound type portable hardness testers also have certain limitations for minimum sample thickness, weight and surface finish requirements. For lightweight, thin or non-steel samples we can recommend our other type portable hardness testers to ensure high accuracy and repeatability. Our range of rebound type portable hardness testers start from popular and economical versions up to the more sophisticated models and include:
