Water Vapor Permeability Tester QT-WVP-300 series is used to test the water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) of a wide range of materials by Gravimetric Method. It is ideal for advanced water vapor permeability testing for research and development companies and has the reliability, speed, versatility and accuracy required for Quality Control testing.

Special feature of its 12 chamber adoptability for independent as well as average testing of similar or different samples allow flexibility to user for expansion considering the number of testing chambers without purchasing a whole set of new instrument. User can perform average testing of similar samples as well as independent testing simultaneously.

Wide range of testing can be adopted by additional external fittings for packaging container, bags, pouch, bottle, can, bowl, aluminum coated containers, and many other packaging containers.

Applications

This instrument is widely used in food industry, pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics, flexible packaging materials industry and related industries in field of manufacturing of plastic film, barrier materials, sheets, metal aluminum, PVC sheets, etc for measurement of Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR) of material and product quality control. It is also widely use in research and educational institutions to study application characteristics of materials.

User can performs testing on packaging materials, such as plastic film, composite film, co-extrusion film, geo-membrane, aluminum-plated films and foils, infusion bag, sheets, paper, paper board, solar battery panel, cellophane, and various packaging materials. It can also measure permeability through containers such as bag, pouch, bottle, can, bowl, box, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, electronics etc. with optional adopters for containers.

Working Principle

It is based on the Weight reduction method (wet cup method / Gravimetric Method) which measures the gain or loss of moisture by mass, highly sophisticated instrumental techniques implemented by QT-WVP 301~303 series can measure extremely low transmission rates.

The cup is sealed with the test sample, a humidity difference between inside and outside of the cup, and therefore water vapor permeates through test sample; the rate of change in cup weight is monitored to calculate transmission rate.
