QT-WVP-202 Water Vapor Permeability Tester is designed to test the water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) of a wide range of packaging materials such as plastic film, composite film, coextrusion film, aluminum-plated film, aluminum foil, infusion bag, sheets, solar panel, cellophane, ceramics, porcelain and various containers like bag, pouch, bottle, can, bowl, box, etc. that widely used in the industries of food, pharmaceuticals, personal care, household, electronics by electrolytic method.

ISO 15106-3 is the standard specifies an instrumental method for determining the water vapour transmission rate of plastic film, plastic sheeting and multi-layer structures including plastics, using an electrolytic detection sensor. The method provides rapid measurement over a wide range of water vapour transmission rates.

Electrolytic detection sensor method. Test sample is fixed in the middle of test chamber to separate the chamber into upper room and lower room. When humid gas and dry gas flow in upper and lower room respectively, the water molecules in upper room will penetrate through the sample into the lower room, then electrolytic sensor system detect and analyze the water content to calculate the water vapor transmission rate.
