Primary Disruption Mechanisms
How does the internal fluid mechanics of this benchtop Homogenizer forcefully break down your sample?
The raw liquid gets drawn into a thick-walled holding chamber through a one-way valve, then gets pushed aggressively forward by an exceptionally heavy-duty, reciprocating plunger setup. Cranking up to a staggering 1800 bar (180 MPa) working pressure, the QualiHG™ UHPA fires the highly pressurized liquid stream through a locked-in, heavily restrictive opening, creating a blindingly fast micro-jet.
Here are the main physical forces that break your sample to bits:
- The Big Stretch (Shear): Your liquid gets pulled and sheared at the molecular level by intense mechanical forces that make regular stirring completely obsolete.
- High-Speed Crashes (Impact): The stream acts like a high-velocity jet, impacting the solid metal valve seat. It fractures those larger, stubborn chunks of material into millions of microscopic pieces in an absolute instant.
- Tiny Pressure-Drop Explosions (Cavitation): As the liquid shoots out the other side of the gap and the intense squeezing drops off, tiny vapor bubbles form and pop with a massive amount of energy. This rapid pressure release is what really forces those tiny droplets of active ingredients to stay perfectly mixed and never separate.
Process Control and Thermal Management
The architectural design of the QualiHG™ UHPA Series packages the high-performance capabilities of a full-scale production unit right onto your lab bench. The hardware features are directly integrated into the processing method:
Integrated Thermal Control
Because intense mechanical friction and pressure loss naturally generate heat (studies show temperatures climb about 2.5 °C for every 10 MPa jump), our process uses a built-in plumbing setup for chilling things down. This connects directly to an external thermostatic bath so your highly sensitive biological compounds don't get scorched by a sudden heat spike. After all, who wants to spend days developing a formulation only to have it ruined by a sudden temperature spike?
Zero-Retention Fluid Path
Built with a hyper-clean 316L stainless steel construction, the flow path is engineered to leave exactly 0 ml of leftover material sitting inside the pipes. This means absolutely zero waste, even if you are processing a tiny 15 ml minimum sample up to a 15 L/h throughput.
Real-Time Process Monitoring
You can monitor every drop of processing data, including live charts of what the pressure is doing, right on the 10-inch industrial-grade touch screen.
Benchtop-to-Production Scalability
This benchtop Homogenizer uses the exact same physical principles as the massive, heavy-duty machines found in giant manufacturing facilities. You can get the final parameters of your formulation satisfyingly spot on (perfectly consistent but not overly processed) in the lab and be completely confident it will behave the exact same way when you’re making huge, commercial-sized batches later on.
