Ash Fusion Tester

Product Categories

The QualiAFT™ 1200B is a fully automatic ash fusion tester designed for the precise determination of ash fusibility characteristic temperatures — deformation temperature (DT), softening temperature (ST), hemispherical temperature (HT), and flow temperature (FT) — in coal, coke, biomass, and solid waste ash. This ash fusion tester is an essential instrument for evaluating fuel slagging behavior in combustion systems, helping power engineers, fuel analysts, and process chemists characterize the ash melting profile of solid fuels with high accuracy and throughput.

At the center of the QualiAFT™ 1200B is a high-temperature furnace fitted with silicon molybdenum (MoSi₂) heating elements, capable of reaching 1,600 °C (2,912 °F) — sufficient for the full fusibility temperature range of coal, petroleum coke, biomass, and most industrial solid fuel ashes. A CE-certified high-definition camera captures images at every 1 °C increment throughout the heating cycle, and the onboard image processing algorithm automatically detects and records each characteristic deformation temperature — eliminating the subjectivity of manual visual observation.

What sets the QualiAFT™ 1200B apart in its class is the combination of a 10-sample automatic loader, a fully automated test cycle lasting less than 3 hours per batch, and dual atmosphere capability — supporting both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres (CO/CO₂ or H₂/CO₂) for comprehensive fuel characterization across ASTM D1857, ISO 540, and ISO 21404 test methods. The result is an ash fusion tester that delivers laboratory-grade accuracy at production laboratory throughput, with a Windows-based software platform for real-time monitoring, automated result calculation, and full data management.
