Brittleness Point Temperature Tester QualiBrittle™ NDA

QualiBrittle™ NDA is designed for determining the brittleness of wire jackets or vulcanized rubber at low temperatures. It impacts the specimen at a linear speed of 2 ± 0.2 m/s after the specimen, fixed to the test device, is soaked in a medium at low temperature for 5 minutes. The specimen is then checked for cracks, crevices, small holes, and fragments at the lowest temperature.

With a two-segment compressor, this machine can rapidly reduce temperature. The lowest temperature achievable is -70°C. For testing at temperatures lower than -70°C, liquid nitrogen can be added to the heat exchanger, allowing the temperature to reach as low as -120°C. The temperature is highly controllable. The liquid heat transfer medium in the low-temperature tank can be stirred by a motor to ensure a uniform temperature.

Principle:

To conduct brittleness temperature testing, test specimens are immersed in a low-temperature bath for a specified time at the test temperature. They are then subjected to impact to evaluate their brittleness temperature.
