Compact Mooney Viscometer with Scorch and Stress Relaxation Testing
The compact Mooney viscometer QualiMV™ C measures the plasticity and processing behavior of unvulcanized rubber on a single station benchtop frame. A knurled rotor turns at 2 rpm inside a heated, sealed die cavity, and the resisting torque converts directly into Mooney units. Readings span 0.01 to 200 MU at 0.01 MU resolution. QualiMV™ C serves quality control laboratories that need Mooney data without dedicating floor space to a full test cell.
Three test modes run on the same hardware: Mooney viscosity, Mooney scorch, and stress relaxation. Compound release testing, incoming raw material inspection, and formulation development all draw on one instrument. Thin film heaters bonded close to the cavity work with PT100 platinum resistance sensors to hold die temperature to 0.1 °C. Temperature recovers quickly after each die closure, which keeps sample throughput steady on a shared quality control bench.
A 7 inch color touchscreen runs the instrument standalone, so no dedicated computer occupies bench space beside it. Built-in calibration weights let the operator verify torque against a known reference between shifts. Curves for viscosity, scorch, and both die temperatures build on screen while the test proceeds. RS232, USB, and Ethernet ports move results to a LIMS or to the networked analysis software when records are required.
