Dichloromethane Resistance Tester

The QualiDRT50™ Dichloromethane Resistance Tester is a specialized laboratory instrument designed to evaluate the resistance of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) pipes to dichloromethane (DCM). Theory and Method 

Testing Method (ISO 9852)

  1. Specimen Preparation: A 160 mm pipe section is cut and chamfered according to its wall thickness.
  2. Conditioning: The bath is stabilized at the target temperature (between 10 °C and 50 °C).
  3. Immersion: The specimen is immersed in dichloromethane for exactly 30 minutes under a water safety layer.
  4. Drying: The specimen drips in the water layer and is then air-dried.
  5. Inspection: The chamfered surface is visually inspected for signs of attack, such as softening or delamination.
