A Tissue Grinder must protect samples from heat during grinding. QualiGrind™ Freeze combines high-throughput bead milling with active refrigeration, so temperature-sensitive tissues stay stable while disruption happens. This approach supports more consistent downstream extraction work, especially when nucleic acids and proteins degrade under heat.

  • DNA, RNA, and protein extraction preparation
    • Frozen grinding helps keep samples stable during disruption. This supports extraction and purification workflows when repeatability matters.

Theory and Method

QualiGrind™ Freeze uses high-frequency vertical motion to drive bead-to-sample impact and shear inside sealed tubes or adapters. The beads repeatedly strike the sample, breaking tissue structure and cell walls into a uniform homogenate. Refrigeration controls heat rise, which helps maintain sample stability during processing.

A typical method selects adapter format and bead type, then sets speed and time based on sample hardness. Short cycles with pauses can further control temperature for sensitive materials.
