Geosynthetic Tensile Creep Tester (20 kN) - QualiGTX™ TCT

QualiGTX™ TCT Geosynthetic Tensile Creep Tester measures tensile creep and creep rupture behavior in geotextiles, geogrids, and related reinforcement products, addressing the failure mode that short-term tensile testing cannot detect. Four independent stations hold four specimens under sustained load at the same time, so a laboratory runs several load levels in parallel rather than working through a multi-year program one specimen after another. Load capacity reaches 20 kN with accuracy held to ±1%, and displacement is resolved to 0.03 mm.

Three subsystems make up the instrument: a servo motor loading system, a data acquisition and processing unit, and the main frame. Microcomputer control runs the full test sequence and logs readings automatically on a timed schedule, with manual data collection available as a fallback for laboratories that prefer independent verification. Time measurement error stays within ±1%, which matters because creep results are plotted against logarithmic time and an error early in the run propagates through the entire extrapolation.

The TCT serves geogrid and geotextile manufacturers, certification bodies, and geotechnical research groups that need long-term design strength values rather than index properties. An 800 mm creep space accommodates the gauge length plus the elongation extensible products develop over thousands of hours, and the 350 mm effective test width takes full-width geogrid specimens spanning several ribs. Grip widths of 50 mm and 200 mm are selectable to suit narrow strip specimens or wide-width samples.
