Handheld Thermal Imaging Camera - QualiTC™ 23 is a WiFi thermal imaging camera built for electricians, HVAC technicians, and plumbing crews. The device pairs a 220×160 thermal sensor with a 640×480 visible light camera, and wireless transmission lets operators send images straight from the camera to a connected device. This speeds diagnosis on electrical panels, floor heating systems, plumbing, and power distribution equipment. A measurement range of -20°C to 450°C (-4°F to 842°F) covers most electrical and mechanical inspection tasks.

The QualiTC™ 23 offers outline fusion, overlay fusion, and picture-in-picture modes, letting the operator overlay a thermal reading onto the visible scene for faster fault location. Full-screen hotspot, cold spot, center point, and regional measurement modes give operators several ways to read a scene. Distance compensation extends to 5 meters, keeping readings accurate at typical inspection distances. The camera stores images on 8GB of built-in memory and saves them in TIFF format, which keeps more original image data for detailed review.

The QualiTC™ 23 runs on a built-in lithium battery rated for about four hours of continuous use. An operating range of -10°C to 60°C and a storage range of -40°C to 85°C suit most job-site and transport conditions. Eight selectable color palettes and eleven-language support round out a camera built for teams working across different sites and crews. Theory and Method

Every surface above absolute zero emits infrared radiation in proportion to its temperature, and the QualiTC™ 23 captures this energy in the 8 to 14 micrometer long-wave infrared band using a 220×160 microbolometer array. Each detector element changes electrical resistance as it absorbs infrared radiation, and the onboard processor converts that resistance change into a temperature value for every pixel, then renders the result as a false-color thermal image at a 9Hz refresh rate.

A second, 640×480 visible light camera captures a standard photograph of the same scene at the moment of the thermal image. The processor corrects for parallax between the two camera positions and scales the visible image to align with the thermal image pixel for pixel. Outline fusion overlays visible-image edges onto the thermal image, overlay fusion blends the two images at an adjustable ratio, and picture-in-picture displays a thermal window inside the visible frame.

Saving captured images in TIFF format avoids the compression that JPEG applies, so more of the original pixel data survives for later analysis in the included PC software. Distance compensation corrects the calculated temperature for signal loss as infrared energy travels through air, extending accurate readings out to 5 meters from the target.
