High-Energy Charpy V-Notch Specimens (Self-Verification, –40 °C, 8 mm Striker)

High-Energy Charpy V-Notch Specimens SRM must be impact tested (fractured) consecutively within the same timeframe (not on separate days) at -40°C ± 1°C. Test results and digital photographs of the fractured samples should not be sent for evaluation. A suitable machine will produce an average value within 1.4 J or 5% of the certified energy value, whichever is greater.

Unit of Issue: Set

SKU: 2097

Unit Description: Each unit contains a set of Charpy V-notch specimens required for one in-house indirect verification (self-verification). The specimens are made from 4340 alloy steel.

Lot Number: HH-190
Validity: Indefinite

Safety Information

These SRMs are test specimens designed for in-house indirect verification of Charpy testing machines, following the current ASTM E23 and ISO 148-2 standards. SRM 2097 is intended specifically for testing at -40°C ± 1°C.

Each unit of SRM 2097 includes between 5 and 7 Charpy specimens. The exact quantity depends on statistical variability determined during the certification process of the specific lot, conducted at the Charpy Laboratory, Colorado. The key statistical parameter, nSS, represents the number of tests required to ensure that the average absorbed energy aligns statistically with the certified absorbed energy.
