Hose Abrasion Tester
Hose Abrasion Tester delivers accurate, repeatable hose abrasion resistance measurement for quality-control laboratories, rubber hose manufacturers, and R&D departments evaluating the durability of hose outer covers. The instrument subjects a mandrel-supported hose specimen to a controlled reciprocating abrasive surface while the hose rotates at a fixed speed, replicating the wear conditions defined by ISO 6945, ISO/TS 20444:2024, and SAE J2006.
Designed for both production verification and comparative research, the machine accommodates hoses from standard 38 mm internal diameter up to 60 mm external diameter, with alternative sample holders available on request. The solid aluminium and steel frame minimises vibration during the test cycle, ensuring consistent contact between the abrasive tool and the specimen across the full 1,000-cycle pass-fail evaluation. The digital speed controller allows operators to select from three preset rotation speeds — 75, 78, or 80 rpm — to match specific standard requirements.
A safety protection door and safety pushbutton are standard on the machine, meeting laboratory safety requirements without additional accessories. The instrument supports non-standard test configurations for research purposes, including alternative abrading tools, adjustable vertical forces, and the option to run tests with or without hose rotation, making it a practical platform for development programmes that extend beyond defined standard protocols.
