Explore Qualitest’s Advanced Universal Hardness Testers

Qualitest’s Universal Hardness Testers are used on materials for Rockwell, Vickers or Brinell testing. It accommodates all your needs of determining the resistance of a material to deformation. Qualitest has supported the testing requirements of various industries in the past.

Here’s how the product can be used:

  • Where it is desirable to understand the tendency of a material to resist plastic deformation and wear
  • Suitable for testing metal, plastics, composites, organic solids, and any other solid matter
  • Horizontal ‘dolphin-nose’ indenter is suitable for performing internal or external hardness tests for test pieces such as pipes, gears, rings, and objects with a cavity
  • Ideal for laboratories or manufacturers that handle a wide range of materials

Product features:

  • Test force is controlled via a closed-loop control unit with a load cell, DC motor, and highly accurate (+/-0.5%) electronic measurement/control unit instead of the traditional dead weights.
  • Auto-correction for measurements on curved surfaces
  • Conversion capability between all hardness scales
  • Simple ‘plug-and-play’ technology allows for quick and easy set-up or transportation, avoiding the lengthy calibration of traditional hardness testers using dead weights.
  • Automated Z-axis option – simply place the sample on the anvil and press the Start key. The entire test process, beginning with raising the sample to the indenter and ending with displaying the results, will be automatically controlled by the system
  • Improved precision compared with machines utilizing dead weights or manual lifting via hand-wheel as a result of reduced operator interaction; ideal for users with many or heavy samples
  • Improved precision compared with machines utilizing dead weights or manual lifting via hand-wheel as a result of reduced operator interaction
  • Extended dolphin-nose indenter arm allows for a large amount of test space, with a throat depth of 220mm / 8.6” and a standard height of 300mm / 11.8”. The unit can be customized for additional height to allow for taller parts; please contact a Qualitest representative for more information.
  • Built-in micro printer for immediate display of results, as well as USB and RS232 capability for communication with an external computer
