We are proud to share that our floor-standing extrusion plastometer platform has earned the front cover of Plastech Magazine (Volume 39, Issue 3, 2026).
For manufacturing directors, quality assurance managers, and technical leads across the GCC and the Middle East, Plastech stands as a primary publication for keeping track of technical progress and equipment developments. Having our Automatic Melt Flow Indexer (MFI) - QualiFI™ 6000 Galaxy Series highlighted on the cover reflects our steady growth as an international manufacturer, validating our work to supply quality control teams with dependable, high-precision instrumentation at sensible price points.
QualiFI™ 6000 Galaxy Series: Architecture and Configurations
Anyone who has spent time working with older melt indexers knows the frustration of trying to produce repeatable numbers that satisfy ASTM D1238 and ISO 1133 benchmarks. We built this platform to take the friction out of measuring Melt Mass-Flow Rate (MFR) and Melt Volume-Flow Rate (MVR), giving laboratories two distinct configurations based on their daily sample volume:
QualiFI™ 6000SA (Semi-Automatic)
Our semi-automatic model, the QualiFI™ 6000SA, relieves technicians from repetitive manual lifting while keeping direct process oversight intact. The operator sets the required test weight manually, after which an integrated electric drive takes over to lift and lower the load smoothly and evenly.
It measures elapsed time down to 0.001 s, occupies a footprint of 580 × 480 × 1450 mm (L×W×H), and features a 100 kg floor-standing frame engineered for stability during continuous testing cycles.
QualiFI™ 6000A (Fully Automatic)
Our flagship model, the QualiFI™ 6000A, is built for high-throughput testing environments where eliminating operator touchpoints is an operational priority. Operators select the desired testing routine via the software interface, and the motorized loading mechanism steps through multi-stage variable loads without manual weight handling.
With a timer resolution of 0.0005 s, an overall size of 600 × 500 × 1450 mm (L×W×H), and a structural weight of 120 kg, the 6000A provides consistent, repeatable results across heavy production schedules.
Automation, Thermal Precision, and Safety Systems
Manual resin packing has long been an unwelcome source of operator strain and batch-to-batch variation (and anyone who has manually tamped hot molten polymer at the end of a long shift recognizes the physical fatigue it causes).
Pneumatic Compaction and Barrel Cleaning
Both configurations replace manual packing rods with an automated pneumatic compaction and extrusion drive. Operating with an adjustable load between 10 and 50 kg, the system packs raw pellets consistently and purges residual melt after the test run is complete.
Routine cleaning is equally efficient: compressed air-assisted pneumatic cleaning clears out the test barrel without requiring technicians to dismantle the cylinder assembly.
Dual PID Temperature Control
Thermal stability within the heating chamber is managed by an intelligent dual PID temperature control algorithm across an operating span of 50 to 450°C. The system maintains a temperature gradient along the barrel wall above the die of less than ±0.1°C, with a post-loading temperature recovery time of under 2 minutes prior to completing standardized preheat cycles.
Operator Safety and Data Governance
To protect laboratory staff and keep data records ready for formal audits, the system incorporates:
- Mechanical Safety Guards: A dedicated weight fall-prevention guard physically restrains the weight stack from uncontrolled downward travel, while a movable shield keeps operators separated from hot testing zones.
- Data Integrity and Traceability: The operating software records test histories and provides user authority management to support internal laboratory record-keeping and traceability.
Material Compatibility and Verified Standards
The QualiFI™ 6000 Galaxy Series accommodates an extensive range of polymer formulations, offering an MFR measurement span of 0.1 to 100 g/10min and an MVR capacity reaching up to 3000 cm³/10min. It processes standard polyolefins, polymer melts sampled directly from production reactors, and engineering resins such as nylon, polycarbonate, and fluoroplastics across their standardized test temperatures.
Measurement consistency has been demonstrated in CNAS inter-laboratory proficiency testing rounds, where participating laboratories using this platform achieved Z-scores within -0.07 to +0.11.
Both models carry CE certification under EN 61010-1 and EN 61326-1. For institutional procurement, Qualitest is an active registered U.S. Federal Supplier on SAM.gov under UEI MTN4M2D8YHP8 and CAGE code 3MWQ0.
Comprehensive Polymer QC Solutions for Global and GCC Markets
The QualiFI™ 6000 is one part of a larger testing catalog that Qualitest provides. As our company has grown, we continue to broaden our support for quality control facilities worldwide, particularly throughout the GCC region where resin producers and converters rely on our competitively priced equipment to manage production quality without overspending.
Beyond melt flow indexers, we manufacture a complete catalog of plastic testing instruments engineered to evaluate raw resin quality, compounding consistency, and finished product performance. This portfolio gives quality assurance teams the analytical capabilities required to maintain strict ASTM and ISO compliance across every stage of manufacturing.
For baseline physical and mechanical validation, we manufacture Universal Testing Machines (UTMs) and Tensile Testers to determine tensile strength and elongation, Charpy and Izod Pendulum Impact Testers for impact toughness evaluation, Shore and IRHD Durometers for indentation hardness, and HDT/Vicat Testers to track heat deflection temperatures.
To support advanced material characterization and long-term durability verification, our catalog also includes:
- Capillary Rheometers: Evaluating shear viscosity, flow properties, and melt behavior under conditions that match actual extrusion and injection molding processes.
- Thermal Analysis Systems (DSC and TGA): Differential Scanning Calorimeters and Thermogravimetric Analyzers (including our QualiTGA-1000C) for evaluating melting behavior, thermal breakdown, and crystallization rates.
- Environmental Stress Crack Resistance (ESCR): Dedicated apparatus including the QualiESCR-100 and Full Notch Creep Tester (QualiFNCT™) for confirming that finished plastic components will withstand extended mechanical stress in aggressive environments.
- Standardized Specimen Preparation: Precision equipment such as QuickNotch sample notchers and SpeciCut milling machines to produce clean, uniform test specimens that satisfy international testing standards.
Each instrument is engineered to deliver reliable analytical data, with specific commercial pricing, options, and maintenance terms provided through technical quotations.
