Theory and Method

A prepared sample portion and diluent are placed into a sterile homogenizer bag, then positioned in the instrument chamber. The paddles repeatedly strike the bag to generate pressure and oscillation, which accelerates mixing and helps distribute microorganisms evenly through the liquid phase. Since the sample remains sealed inside the bag, the chamber avoids direct contact with the specimen, supporting low carryover between runs.
