AC/DC Magnetic Particle Yoke – MPI Yokes QualiMPI-X2
AC/DC Magnetic Particle Yoke – MPI Yokes QualiMPI-X2 is designed with a compact structure, well-organized layout, and lightweight build for easy transport. It is ideal for detecting surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials across industries such as power generation, metallurgy, petrochemicals, and machinery. It is also suited for inspections of boilers, pressure vessels, pipelines, and a wide range of welded structures.
This flaw detector can operate directly on AC power or with both AC and DC magnetization sources, offering efficient and portable performance. It is particularly effective for weld inspections on ship hulls, high-elevation steel structures, and the interior of pressure vessels.
This AC/DC Magnetic Particle Yoke – MPI Yokes QualiMPI-X2 features a compact design, efficient layout, small size, lightweight construction, and easy portability. It is ideal for inspecting surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials found in steel structural components, boilers, pressure vessels, pipelines, and various welded structures across industries such as power generation, metallurgy, petrochemicals, and machinery.
The device can be powered directly by AC, with optional AC and DC magnetization power supplies available for flexible, efficient operation. It is especially well-suited for inspecting ship welds, high-elevation steel structure welds, and internal pressure vessel inspections.
Instruction of Use
- Connect one end of the probe wire to the electromagnetic yoke, and the other end to a 220V (110V is also available) AC power socket (or to a DC power supply or AC magnetization power supply). Ensure all connections are secure.
- Place the two magnetic pole feet of the electromagnetic yoke firmly against the workpiece. Apply the magnetic particle suspension—such as black oil suspension, black water suspension, or fluorescent suspension (fluorescent suspension requires UV light). Press the switch on the electromagnetic yoke to magnetize the workpiece. Release the switch to stop magnetization.
- After completing the inspection, unplug the electromagnetic yoke’s connection wire.
- Recommended operation cycle: When working continuously for extended periods, magnetize for less than 3 seconds, then rest for at least 5 seconds.
- Ensure the magnetic pole feet maintain good contact with the workpiece before pressing the magnetization switch to achieve optimal magnetization.
- Always release the switch before removing the magnetic pole feet from the workpiece to prevent overheating or damage. Avoid running the device without load (i.e., without contact between the pole feet and the workpiece) to reduce unnecessary heat buildup.
