Abrasion Tester for Solar Panels and Coated Glass Surfaces Model QualiSPAbrade™ 1096
Qualitest offers a specialized Abrasion Tester for solar panels and coated glass surfaces, designed to meet the requirements outlined in the BS EN 1096-2 standard. This standard focuses on artificial weathering and abrasion testing for coatings on glass used in buildings. These tests aim to assess the resistance of coatings to simulated natural weathering conditions and abrasion, representing the external and/or internal faces of the glazing.

BS EN 1096-2 is the second part of the coated glass series, addressing the requirements and test methods for Class A, B, and S coatings. The Abrasion Tester is specifically engineered for solar panel surface abrasion testing, utilizing wool felt for the abrasion process. During testing, each wool felt abrasion stroke rotates 20 degrees, with adjustable load settings and cycle numbers to simulate real-world conditions. The machine evaluates the damage to the solar panel’s surface, ensuring durability and performance under various conditions.
