Thermostat (Constant Temperature) Bath (-83°C to 98°C)

Process Thermostat performance matters when reactions, sample conditioning, or calibration work depends on tight temperature uniformity. QualiTB™ Series Thermostat Baths provide a controlled liquid environment with stable temperature, uniform mixing, and reliable refrigeration and heating in one compact platform.

The system uses microcomputer control with PID regulation to hold setpoints and reduce overshoot during ramps and holds. This constant-temperature reaction bath can also act as a temperature source for external loads through a circulation loop. Corrosion-prone wetted parts are stainless steel to support long service life in lab and pilot environments.

Theory and Method

QualiTB™ Series controls bath temperature through a closed-loop PID algorithm that continuously compares the measured temperature to the setpoint and adjusts heating and refrigeration output to reduce drift. This improves stability during steady-state holds and reduces overshoot during setpoint changes.

Cooling is provided by a sealed compressor refrigeration system, while heating is applied from a bottom heating module. Heating can be used to balance refrigeration demand, which helps avoid frequent compressor cycling during narrow-band control.
