Benchtop Xenon Test Chamber - Test Principle:

The benchtop Xenon lamp weathering test chamber performs artificial weathering of coatings or exposes coatings to filtered Xenon-Arc radiation to assess the degree of change in specific properties after a defined radiant exposure (H) and/or to determine the radiant exposure needed to induce a particular level of aging. These monitored properties should ideally be relevant to the practical application of the coatings.
The exposed coatings' properties are compared to those of unexposed coatings made from the same materials concurrently and under the same conditions (control specimens). Alternatively, comparisons can be made with coatings exposed simultaneously, whose behavior in exposure apparatus is already known (reference specimens).
The QualiXenon™ 100 Benchtop Xenon Lamp Weathering Test Chamber uses a Xenon lamp as the light source to optimally simulate the full spectrum of sunlight. This chamber can assess damage effects on polymer materials, including fading, light loss, strength reduction, cracking, flaking, chalking, and oxidation.
This chamber finds typical applications in paint coating, the automotive industry, plastic products, wood products, adhesives, and more.
