Automatic Geosynthetic Thickness Gauge - QualiGTX™ TG A
QualiGTX™ TG A automatic geosynthetic thickness gauge measures nominal thickness across seven distinct test modes, covering geotextiles, geomembranes, geonets, geospacers, and drainage geocomposites. Dual servo motors drive a precision ball screw that lowers the presser foot at a controlled rate, applying 2 kPa, 20 kPa, or 200 kPa to the specimen without operator influence. Manufacturers, third-party laboratories, and construction QC departments use the instrument to verify roll goods against project specifications before material ships to site.
Seven test configurations sit in a single frame, so the laboratory no longer keeps separate gauges for geotextiles, uniform barriers, and non-uniform barriers. Selectable 100 cm² and 25 cm² presser feet handle planar products, while dedicated coaxial presser points measure polymeric and bituminous barriers at forces as low as 0.1 N. The operator selects a method on the industrial touchscreen, and the instrument runs the loading sequence, dwell time, and reading automatically.
A dial gauge with 0.001 mm resolution across a 0 to 10 mm range captures displacement, and the control software stores every reading for statistical review. Results can be averaged across the ten specimens that most test methods require, then uploaded over the network to a LIMS or quality database. The QualiGTX™ TG A occupies a 1150 × 670 mm footprint, which suits laboratories that need broad method coverage without dedicating a full bench to thickness testing.
