Battery Diaphragm Gas Permeability Tester QT-Q600E Overview
The Battery Diaphragm Gas Permeability Tester QT-Q600E, commonly known as the Gurley-type Apparatus, is designed and developed in accordance with ISO 5636-5 and TAPPI T460 standards. The QT-Q600E Gas Permeability Tester for Battery Diaphragm adheres to the test principle of the differential pressure method and is professionally utilized for testing the air permeability of battery separators, breathable membranes, and related polymer materials.

ISO 5636-5:2013 specifies the Gurley method for determining the air permeance of paper and board using an air resistance tester, specifically the Gurley apparatus. It is applicable to papers and boards with air permeances ranging between 0.1 µm/(Pa⋅s) and 100 µm/(Pa⋅s) when tested with the Gurley apparatus. This method is not suitable for rough-surfaced materials that cannot be securely clamped to prevent leakage. ISO 5636-5:2013 may also be utilized to determine the air resistance of paper and board.
Test Principle
In the test environment of standard temperature, humidity, and normal pressure, and under the pressure of 1.21 kPa applied by the test instrument, the QT-Q600E measures the time required for 100 mL of air to pass through the diaphragm, which has an area of 6.45 cm².
Application:
