Compact Geotextile Cone Drop Tester - QualiGTX™ CDT C

Geotextile Dynamic Perforation Tester, 1 kg Cone and 500 mm Drop Height

The Geotextile Dynamic Perforation Tester quantifies the damage a falling steel cone inflicts on geotextiles and related geosynthetic products. A 1 kg cone drops 500 mm onto a clamped specimen, punches through, and leaves a hole whose diameter becomes the reported result. Tougher fabrics leave smaller holes. The QualiGTX™ CDT C runs that test inside the narrowest frame in the Qualitest cone drop range.

Footprint drives the design. The column stands on a 450 by 350 mm base, which slots into wall runs, corner positions, and aisle ends that a wider apparatus cannot occupy. Total mass reaches 45 kg, heavy enough to stay planted through repeated impacts and light enough for two technicians to move between benches. Civil engineering laboratories that share floor space with compaction, sieving, and CBR equipment gain a dedicated perforation station without surrendering a work area.

Test hardware follows the drop cone geometry exactly: a 45° stainless steel cone massing 1000 g with its guide rod, a clamping ring with a 150 mm clear opening, and a graduated measuring cone for reading the perforation. Manual operation keeps the mechanism simple, with no electronics to calibrate and no power connection to arrange. Materials laboratories, geosynthetic producers, and project acceptance labs use the QualiGTX™ CDT C wherever a defensible perforation figure has to accompany a delivery or a submittal.
