Concrete Slab Tester Features
Concrete Slab Tester Features features a temperature and time-controlled refrigerating and heating system, with three fans for optimal air circulation. Both the inner and outer surfaces are made of stainless steel. It uses environmentally friendly refrigerant R290, which has minimal Global Warming Potential (GWP).
The chamber allows for freezing and thawing of specimens with 8 freely programmable temperature profiles. Standards such as EN 1340 and EN 12390-9, among others, are pre-set but can be modified. Two included temperature sensors can be placed freely within the cabinet, for example, on the specimen surface and at the bottom of the specimen.
A graphical touch display shows the set temperature, specimen temperature, air temperature, and the temperature at the cooling unit. All temperatures are internally recorded and can be copied to a USB memory stick. The chamber includes a network interface for remote control over your network. No extra software is necessary; simply open your internet browser and enter the address of the Slabtester.
You can program the temperature profiles on your PC, display all temperature data graphically in your browser, and import the data into Excel for local backup. Data is stored locally, with no external internet access required.
Included: 4 shelves, electronic controller, network cable, USB memory, and user manual.

Flooding Option: In the chamber, a removable stainless steel container with dimensions of approximately 50 x 60 x 48 cm (w x d x h) is mounted. A second container, placed outside, contains a pump and a heating unit. During freezing, the inner container remains empty. For thawing, tempered water is pumped from the outer container into the inner container, where it remains during the thawing period. After thawing, the water is drained back into the outer container. The timing for flooding and emptying is freely programmable. This feature makes the Slabtester suitable for testing natural stones according to EN 12371, aggregates according to EN 1367-1, tile glue according to EN 1348:2007, and other standards mentioned above.
Circulating Flooding Option: The Circulating Option is similar to the standard Flooding Option C0108, but with slightly larger outer and inner vessels. The inner vessel has an overflow and is filled from the bottom, draining through the overflow below the upper border. The pump runs continuously during the thawing period. After thawing, the pump stops, and the water drains from the inner vessel to the outer vessel. The inner vessel features a drawer mechanism for easy placement of specimens.
Option for Testing Freeze-Thaw Resistance of Clay Masonry Units according to EN 772-22:2018: This additional option includes automatic spraying of a specified amount of water at set intervals according to EN 772-22:2018. The intervals are freely programmable. Note that the maximum testing wall size, including the frame, is 58 x 58 cm. This option also requires the Natural Stone Option (C0108). An air pressure compressor (6 bar) is included.
Also available:
Option: Heat Flow Meter for Calibrating the Freeze-Thaw Test for Clay Masonry Units as described in EN 772-22:2018: The heat flow meter is an insulated device designed to extract heat over the central area of the surface that would be exposed during a test. The area is matte black and capable of extracting heat such that when the air temperature is at -15°C, the center of the plate is maintained at 0°C. The average rate of heat extraction can be measured.
