Copper Strip Corrosion Testers | Fuels, Oils, and LPG per ASTM D130 & D1838
Copper strip corrosion testers measure how corrosive fuels, oils, and gases are to copper. The copper strip method follows ASTM D130 for liquid petroleum products and ASTM D1838 for liquefied petroleum gas. Refineries, bottling plants, and QC labs use it to catch reactive sulfur compounds before a product reaches copper hardware. Qualitest offers three models that cover liquids, aviation fuels, and LPG.
The bench testers share a stainless steel bath with PID temperature control and paired heaters for stable, repeatable exposures. Sample handling differs by product: open test tubes and pressure vessels for liquids, and sealed cylinders for pressurized LPG.
