De-Aired Water Supply Systems

Gas-free, temperature-stable water for geosynthetics hydraulic testing to ASTM D4491 and ASTM D4716.

De-aired water supply systems strip dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide from test water, then hold that water at a set temperature. Geosynthetics laboratories use them for permeability, permittivity, and in-plane flow work. Methods including ASTM D4491, ASTM D4716, and EN ISO 11058 call for de-aired water reported at a controlled reference temperature. Bubbles and viscosity drift are the two variables these units take out of the measurement.

The 50-liter model feeds several instruments at once and adds touchscreen control with higher refrigeration capacity. How to Choose the Right De-Aired Water Supply System

  • For a single permeameter or a low-throughput lab: choose the 30-liter model, which prepares enough water for routine testing without the floor space or service demands of the larger unit.
  • For several hydraulic stations sharing one water source: choose the 50-liter model, whose larger reservoir and 45 L/min pump keep multiple rigs supplied.
  • For long transmissivity or drain discharge runs: choose the 50-liter model, since extended tests draw water steadily and benefit from the shorter cool-down cycle.
  • Where only single-phase power is available: choose the 30-liter model, as the 50-liter unit requires a three-phase supply.
  • For labs that also need a temperature source: either model can circulate conditioned fluid to an external vessel, so tell us the second application and we will size accordingly.
  • Where bench and floor clearance is limited: compare footprints before ordering, since the two cabinets differ in shape as well as volume.
