Dichloromethane Resistance Tester QualiDRT50
Dichloromethane Resistance Tester QualiDRT50 is designed to evaluate the resistance of unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) pipes to dichloromethane at a specified temperature. It is suitable for all PVC-U pipes, regardless of their application. This method provides a quick and effective way to ensure consistent quality during production.
Principle
A section of PVC-U pipe, cut to a specified length and chamfered at one end at an angle based on its thickness, is immersed in dichloromethane for 30 minutes at the temperature outlined by the relevant standard. This process ensures the PVC-U remains unaffected at the specified temperature.
To enhance safety, the surface area of the dichloromethane is minimized and covered with a deep layer of water to limit evaporation. After immersion, the test piece is held in the water layer to allow excess liquid to drain before it undergoes final drying and inspection.
