Drying Time

When developing a process, it's crucial to determine the precise duration required for the coating to dry or cure. The coating's drying time encompasses several stages. Initially, upon application, the coating levels off under gravity. Subsequently, as the coating begins to cure, a thin dry film forms on the surface.

But how do you ascertain when a coating is completely dry?

With our range of Drying Time Recorders, available in two models, operators can easily discern each stage of the drying process:

A ball tip is inserted into the coating, and utilizing the mathematical formula: Distance = Speed × Time; the Recorder sets the ball in motion at a predetermined speed. As the coating dries, the trace left by the ball on the coating indicates each stage of the curing process.
