Geosynthetic Permeability Tester - QualiGTX™ GPT GS
QualiGTX™ GPT GS geosynthetic permeability apparatus measures water flow normal to the plane of geotextiles, nonwovens, and related geosynthetic products under no-load conditions. Qualitest North America configured the instrument around ISO 11058, the international method that reports permeability as a flow velocity rather than a permittivity value. A 10-inch color touchscreen runs setup, timing, and readout. Laboratories reporting to European and international specifications get the right output format without post-processing.
The clamp accepts a Ø50 mm specimen in high-strength 304 stainless steel hardware, and an onboard source tank feeds the cell without a plumbed connection. Heating and cooling hold the water anywhere from 5 °C to 60 °C, displayed to 0.1 °C. A dissolved oxygen analyzer covering 0 to 20 mg/L documents water condition before each run, reading to 0.01 mg/L. Automatic timing runs to 999 s, and results display directly on completion.
The cabinet stands 1,750 mm tall on a 750 by 720 mm footprint, weighs 120 kg, and draws single-phase 220 V power. Nothing in the installation calls for three-phase service, compressed air, or a laboratory water line. Setup takes the space of a single-cell permeameter rather than a floor-standing automated system. Materials laboratories that handle geocomposites, drainage fabrics, and filter media alongside conventional geotextiles use the QualiGTX™ GPT GS as their standing cross-plane flow station.
