Geotextile Abrasion Testers
Geotextile Abrasion Testers | ASTM D4886 & ISO 13427 Sliding Block Method
Geotextile abrasion testers measure how much tensile strength a fabric loses after repeated rubbing against an abrasive surface, the figure engineers use to predict service life against aggregate. The sandpaper and sliding block method defined in ASTM D4886 and ISO 13427 clamps a specimen under a 6 kg dead load while a platen reciprocates beneath it.
Geosynthetic producers, contract laboratories, and civil engineering departments rely on this test to qualify woven and nonwoven fabrics before installation. Qualitest North America offers the QualiGTX™ range in two bench configurations, both running identical test parameters.
