Smoke Density Tester
Smoke Density Tester, developed by Rohm and Haas Company in the United States, was originally developed in the 1970s based on the ASTM D2843 standard. Its theoretical basis is Billung's law, which involves direct flame impingement on the sample.
The tester measures the optical density of the smoke generated during combustion and determines the Smoke Density Rating (SDR). Currently, it is widely used in accordance with international standards for the smoke density testing of PVC conduits and automotive interior materials.
