The Smoke Point Tester is designed to determine the smoke point of aviation turbine fuels and kerosene in accordance with standard industry procedures. It provides a simple yet effective method to assess combustion quality by measuring the maximum flame height before visible smoke appears.
During operation, the sample is burned in a wick-fed lamp, and the flame is viewed against a graduated scale. The wick height is manually adjusted to identify the flame height at which a smoky tail first appears, and then lowered until the smoke just disappears. This flame height is recorded as the smoke point.
Ideal for laboratories that require precise and repeatable results, the instrument features a fully manual design and contains no electrical components, making it safe and reliable for routine fuel testing.
