Touch-screen Coating Abrasion Resistance Tester

With the increasing prevalence of intelligent electronic products, ensuring a superior touch experience while combating dust and fingerprint-induced scratches has become a paramount concern for coating experts. To address this, the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), through its Coatings and Related Materials and Applications Committee (D01), has introduced a new international standard. ASTM D 8380-21 "Standard Test for Dry Abrasion Resistance of Hydrophobic and Omniphobic Coatings," issued in 2021, outlines a method for evaluating the abrasion resistance of coatings commonly used to enhance fingerprint resistance, water repellency, stain resistance, and ease of cleaning on intelligent electronic product touch screens. By comparing the difference between the initial contact angle and the angle after mechanical abrasion, this standard assesses the coating's ability to maintain its original properties following environmental exposure.
In line with this standard, Qualitest offers this Abrasion Resistance Tester for Touch Screen Coating. This tester features a Single-Chip Microcomputer control system, offering stepless speed adjustment, automatic counting, and direct LCD display of working speed and counts. Test times can also be easily configured. With its compact design, user-friendly operation, and excellent repeatability and comparability of test results, the QT-TCART-8380 Touch-screen Coating Abrasion Resistance Tester is the preferred choice for both research and production facilities focusing on hydrophobic coatings and testing intelligent electronic products.
