Xenon Test Chamber Applications

Description of QualiXenon™ 200 Xenon Test Chamber:
Xenon Lamp Weathering Test Chamber QualiXenon™ 200 is a compact floor-standing model that utilizes a xenon lamp as its light source to accurately replicate the full spectrum of sunlight. It also effectively controls temperature and humidity to create periodic precipitation on the sample.
This comprehensive simulation allows for a thorough assessment of the impact of sunlight, moisture, and temperature on the degradation of polymer materials. Material aging encompasses fading, loss of light, reduced strength, cracking, spalling, chalking, and oxidation, among other factors.
In contrast to the Quali-Xenon™ 100 Desktop Xenon Lamp Weathering Test Chamber, the QualiXenon™ 200 model features an enhanced spray function that mimics rain and other environmental conditions experienced by materials when used outdoors. Additionally, it can monitor the total radiation energy received by the sample during the test, enabling precise control over the test duration.
The xenon lamp emits light that effectively replicates sunlight, while the water spray system reproduces rain's effects. Throughout the testing cycle, radiation energy and temperature remain under precise control. Typically, the test cycle involves xenon lamp irradiation at high temperatures and periodic rainfall simulations. This equipment finds widespread applications in various industries, including paint coating, automotive, plastics, wood products, adhesives, and more.

Simulated Sunlight:
In natural climates, solar radiation is recognized as the primary contributor to coating aging, and the principles of exposure radiation under window glass are analogous. QualiXenon™ 200's xenon lamp offers the most authentic representation of full-spectrum sunlight, encompassing ultraviolet, visible, and infrared light. For many materials, full-spectrum exposure is essential for accurate simulations, particularly for assessing color changes and sun fastness.
The most significant distinction between the QualiXenon™ 200 Xenon Lamp Weathering Test Chamber and other International brands is its ability to control and automatically adjust radiation energy throughout the entire test. It is widely acknowledged that energy levels during the testing process are the foremost factor in polymer material aging. To ensure the reproducibility and comparability of test results, radiant energy serves as a critical technical parameter.
We use a principle akin to the sun's monitoring system to automatically track the test process's energy value. If the lamp's aging does not reach the preset energy value for the test, the system can automatically monitor and replenish it immediately.

Simulated Humid Condensation Environment:
In numerous outdoor settings, materials are frequently subjected to erosion from rain or other forms of moisture. Xenon Test Chamber QualiXenon™ 200's water spray system excels at replicating final environmental conditions more accurately.
Water spray is highly effective in simulating thermal shock or mechanical erosion resulting from abrupt temperature changes and rain-wash. In practical scenarios, such as exposure to sunlight, when accumulated heat rapidly dissipates due to sudden showers, materials experience sharp temperature fluctuations, leading to thermal shock—an important test for various materials.
QualiXenon™ 200 Xenon Test Chamber's water spray system can faithfully replicate thermal shock and stress corrosion. The QualiXenon™ 200 sprinkler system is thoughtfully designed with two nozzles, one located on the front and another on the back of the rotating model rack.
The sprinkler system can be activated for brief intervals before being shut off. This short-duration spray rapidly cools the sample and creates conditions for thermal shock testing. Additionally, the spray can be programmed to operate in cycles of darkness and light.
Please note: For the testing process, it is essential to use purified water for the spray.
