Pneumatic Method A Dart Drop Tester

Model QualiDDT™ PM 8285A runs the Method A configuration at a 26 inch (66 cm) drop height with a 412 gram dart set. Two air cylinders actuate the upper clamp ring, and the dart releases pneumatically, so loading and release stay repeatable between operators. The 48 inch frame and 55 lb weight suit labs testing film in the lighter impact range.

Pneumatic Method A&B Dart Drop Tester

Model QualiDMDDT™ AB is an 80 inch frame that runs both the 26 inch Method A and 60 inch (152 cm) Method B configurations, shipping with the 412 gram and 1310 gram dart sets. The 8165AB uses a manual thumb screw release with a toggle clamp; the 8285AB adds pneumatic release and clamping for higher sample volumes. Phenolic and stainless steel dart heads are included.

How to Choose the Right Pneumatic Drop Dart Tester

• For film that fails under lighter darts: choose the Method A unit at 26 inches with the 412 gram set.
• For tougher film, sheet, or laminates: choose a combination Method A & B unit so the 60 inch drop and 1310 gram set stay available.
• For high daily sample counts: choose a fully pneumatic model, where air cylinders handle both the clamp ring and the dart release.
• For occasional testing on a tighter budget: the manual thumb screw and toggle clamp version of the A&B tester covers the same methods without shop air.
• Before ordering: confirm 60 psi dry, filtered air for any pneumatic model, and check ceiling clearance for the 80 inch frame.
