Wire & Cable Smoke Density Tester Cube QualiCSDT3 designed to meet IEC 61034 and BS 6853 standards, offers a precise method for measuring smoke density from burning building materials or cables under a controlled fire source.
During testing, as smoke is produced, it progressively obstructs the light path, altering optical transmittance. This results in a recorded minimum transmission value and the time required to reach it.

Wire & Cable Smoke Density Tester Cube QualiCSDT3 consists of:
- The test chamber has internal dimensions of 3000mm × 3000mm × 3000mm, with a total internal volume of 27 cubic meters.
- The test chamber is equipped with a door and an observation window, allowing the user to monitor conditions inside the combustion chamber.
- Several ventilation holes are positioned near the floor to maintain balanced atmospheric pressure inside and outside the chamber.
- Transparent glass panels are installed on the left and right walls, with light sources and optical receivers on each side.
- A floor-mounted fan is included to evenly distribute smoke within the combustion chamber.
- An exhaust fan is positioned at the top of the chamber to remove smoke produced during testing.
- A combustion test stand and a stainless steel alcohol tray are provided.
- The light source is an imported unit, controlled by a constant current source for greater stability. Features include:
- A constant current control system that ensures more stable and reliable data compared to constant voltage mode.
- Automatic optical gear detection with 0.01% accuracy.
- A matching error (F1) of no more than 4%, with a 1% linear accuracy.
